Exothropeans aren't meant to use thier skins they grow as a permanent form Judas has to shed and regrow it monthly. If he doesn't his fluid starts to leak through causing "acne" Judas normally sheds it at that point but sometimes he goes longer since transforming is a really draining process, or if he's constantly around people and doesn't get the chance. Around the 3 week mark he'll start having a slight sulfur like smell that becomes stronger as time goes on, If they don't shed the skin will start to decompose. The "acne" will leak and all his fur starts to fall out, eventually it will fall off and has no choice but to regrow it or revert back to thier true form.
Judas normally eats thier skin after shedding to recycle thier fluid/goop which they need to transform. Otherwise it takes him longer until he was able to transform again since his body has to remake it which puts him in a valuable situation he doesn't like being in.
Judas only takes his real form very rarely and normally just regrows whatever skin he currently has. Thier body is constantly in an alien skin and very rarely gets a break so Judas constantly feels like shit but he got used to it.
