Amber Wiccan was born in a small village to a family of local herbalists and healers, and was well on her way to replacing them when she came across a wounded young hunter while she was out gathering herbs. Carrying the wolf back to her village, she nursed him back to health herself, developing huge crush on him during the process.
In exchange, when the young hunter was able, he taught the serpent a few basic self defense techniques, which she eagerly practiced and even mastered.
By this point, she had fallen completely for him, and when the young wolf finally decided to leave the village, the young serpent, unable and unprepared to face the full brunt of the outside world, resolved to get to the point where she could. And she did.
In between her duties of herbalist and healer, Amber practiced the spear, perused the town library for information she could find about the outside world, and practiced getting over her shy, timid tendencies, until she was hardly recognizable. By that point... she was finally ready.
Finally leaving her hometown behind her, armed with nothing more than a bundle of herbs, a trusty spear, and all the knowledge contained in her small village, she set out into the big city.
She was actually able to find the wolf she saved rather quickly. But when she did... he didn't even recognize her. And he certainly wasn't interested in a relationship
Heart broken, soul rent, Amber went to weep in a quiet park, where she was found by a nun. When she was offered a place among their ranks, the serpent eagerly accepted.
She quickly found she fit right in amongst the rank of the sisters. The heartbroken sister learned and learned, until she became the teacher. And then she learned some more. She joined the ranks of her brave sisters, who vowed to purge monsters from the land. And soon the hosts of darkness would learn to fear her honing, trusty spear.
The sisters taught forgiveness, and forgive was what she did. She even learned forgiveness for the one who hurt her most.
The elder wolf had grown quite a bit over the many years they'd been apart. He apologized profusely for hurting her, even asked for a second chance. And while it should have been all too easy to say no, Amber could not bear to say so.
He had a daughter now. A daughter, the old wolf said, that was in desperate need of a mother. It was a choice that was being offered then. A choice, that has been responsible for many sleepless nights of hers. The oaths of a nun are hard to break... yet how can she just ignore this second chance to live out her greatest dream?
She did her best to ignore the call. She had done so much for the church already, and there was so much more still to do. How could she leave all this, just throw it all away?
Yet her thoughts keep straying to the thought of Jaeger and his open arms.
