He just arrived a few days ago, in which I commissioned him to be made by Make My Plush. I’ve always wanted a plushie of Buddy aka Stretch-O-Mutt from the Krypto the Superdog series. I really wished Warner Brothers made an official one when they had the show on at the time and were selling toys based on it. So I had to take matters into my own hands and had the idea of getting one of those online custom plush makers stores to make me one for my very own. I really love this character, he reminds me so much of Dynomutt, though I’m sure he was the inspiration behind him since the Krypto cartoon is suppose to be in the style of classic Hanna Barbara cartoons.
I have a few minor nitpicks here and there with the finished toy. One, is they didn’t have the exact color shade of light blue that I wanted for his nose and boots, two, they had him in a sitting position (Though, I have warmed up to it.) instead of a standing one in which I didn’t asked to be in the first place, third, maybe they should’ve made his nose a little on the top of his muzzle instead of the very tip with his lips more stretch up to his muzzle towards his mask a bit to make it more accurate to the cartoon.
All in all, it’s not too shabby. I was also surprised by how big he was. He’s bigger than even my Scoob! Dynomutt plush 12 toy, and I was assuming he would be the same size of that toy since I asked it to be made in 12 inches. Anyway, I must thank Make My Plush for my toy and how affordable they were. Before I came across them, it was a huge hassle looking for the right custom plush toy makers online, the other ones before MMP either wanted too much money in the hundreds or wanted to make a multitude of toys for you instead of just a single one. It was just as challenging as finding my Dynomutt toy. But as with that, persistence always pays off.
I hope I can meet Lee Tockar the voice of Stretch O sometime soon and get him to autograph my plush.
