This painting was quite the challenge, but I'm pretty happy how it came out. :]
I don't think I've spent so many hours painting a single piece since college, somewhere close to ninety hours in the end.
It's about 11x17 inches and is mostly painted with acrylics.
It's the cover for FurtherConfusion's convention book next January, following their down under theme of "Southern Crossing."
I drew a lot of inspiration for it from my own experiences camping three weeks in the Outback with friends and family a few years ago. :]
From left to right, we've got Diego (dingo), Jack (red kangaroo), a quoll and feral goat up on the truck, a wombat, emu, Diego's mum, an echidna, a numbat in the foreground, a Tasmanian devil and another quoll.

Perhaps one of the biggest things I truly enjoy about your works, aside from the fact that it is unquestionably gorgeous and unique, is the fact that you involve the entire world of creatures and as for how they interact to each species is no different than race or skin colour.
Jack looks like he's not too happy with Diego for some reason, and Diego looks kinda like he's giving a "... so are we cool?" toast. Am I reading too much in to this?

I love this one because I love the feeling it gives me, it reminds me of times I've spent as a child camping with my friends or family. Nothing quite like sharing some beers and chow around a big fire, telling bullshit and laughing all night. <3
Don't burn the brats man! It'll ruin the vibe!

I've always been a big fan of your work.. and rarely ever comment only because i know the chances of it being seen are slim... but as an Avid Off-Roader i have to say this really caught my eye not only for its technical accuracy and skillful execution.. but for the deep sense of Community and fun that Off-Roaders share on trips and the PURPOSE behind such events.... This really made me smile :)
thank you for sharing this with the fandom.. Hopefully this will inspire more furs to take more active measures in preserving our nature and its beauty for our continued mutual enjoyment

MY EYES! The sheer awesomenes, detail and FELING this has to it is just melting my face 0.0
Seriously though. This is a BEAUTIFUL piece, lighting making it look like a rather warm cozy scene. Every little detail of this is flawless and has definitely given me a new wallpaper.... and I have a feeling this will last a LOOOONG time.
Very well done on this as it looks incredible. Pefect even.

I find it quite interesting, I see a good amount of art work that has a desert setting and there is almost never donkeys in the piece. Horses and camels are good modes of transport if you could have afforded them. The poor in history and today had to use the cheapest upkeep beast of burden aka donkeys.
I might not have commented if there was not a goat in your piece which is not native to to Australia.

This entire picture just makes me so happy. It's so amazingly detailed.
I'm going to travel somewhere just to see the night sky like that. Humans have created so much light in the world that we barely even see stars anymore, even in suburban areas.
I'm glad to see Diego and Jack again too. I've wanted a goatee like that since I was about... nine, and I realized very recently that after almost a decade I've finally reached my goal. Life is good.

You know, at first I was kind of afraid of all the poisonous this and that Australia has to offer. However, after spending extensive time with Australians, it came to light that they are terrified of North America because of all the bears, pumas and so on and so forth. Their rationale was, "At least you can STEP on a spider!" ;]
Simply amazing. Every character looks so incredibly realistic, each with the right anatomy for its species and each with its own personality. The detail you've put into this is mindblowing, in every feature - the characters themselves, the car, the scene, the sky. And to have achieved such detail on a piece that's only 11x17" is even more amazing!
Brilliant piece all around; the little details, like the Australian flag apron and the gentle shadows from the fire are amazing, but the sky is something else. The stars are bright and the sky is so expansive - there is an extra something that makes it come to life. Excellent work, my favorite piece of yours so far.
Ahh feral goat xD I couldn't figure it out. The number plate says Victoria, but they're clearly in South Australia with that Iced Coffee in the image there. <3 Farmer's Union Iced coffee. Otherwise, absolutely fantastic image, stunning mood and lighting. The time spent really shows.
The Devil looks like he's got some powerful arms. It is nice to see Diego again too. I kinda hope to see a new 'Dog Days of Summer' sequel of one form or another.
A nice outdoor piece altogether here, and partly reminds me of my vacation where I roasted marshmellows with my mother.

It looks very good, that image reminds me of the trips I used to make with a group of 4x4s to different places, to the countryside, to mountains or places where I spent the Dakar in Argentina.
They were unforgettable and unique moments we spent days in the place where we were going.
After inflation and the economy in Argentina settle down a bit, I will surely go on outings like that again, I have faith in enjoying moments like that again.
Thank you for making me remember part of those unforgettable adventures. 😁👍
