Chapter 3: The Beach Party
In memory of the Les Flots bleus campsite burned in the Gironde fire and which served as my inspiration for this campsite
The next morning, each camper was having breakfast on the terrace of their bungalows, or on a table set up in front of their camping tents or their caravans or camper vans.
The Wilde family and the Gray family along with Sharla, decided to have breakfast with the Hopps. Each family brought something for the morning meal.
Little Alex brought a box of Lucky Chomps cereal, Johanna a bottle of maple syrup for the carrot pancakes that her grandmother made for her, Peter brought a jar of chocolate spread and Gideon Gray brought croissants stuffed with blueberry and carrot jam.
At the breakfast table Alex sat next to Olivia.
Alex Wilde: So Olivia what do you think of this place?
Olivia Grey: Well I think it's beautiful. Besides my father, Sharla and I had decided to go to the beach this afternoon.
Alex Wilde: Oh that's a great idea, maybe we could come with you.
Olivia Grey: I'm sure your parents will agree.
Alex Wilde: To find out I would have to ask them.
Alex approaches his parents.
Alex Wilde: Mom, Dad, Olivia told me she was going to the beach today, can I come with her please?
Judy Wilde: No need to ask us Alex, we were going to take you there this afternoon.
Alex was overjoyed to be able to go to the beach with his girlfriend.
At bungalow 6, the Loopilote gang was quietly sitting on their terrace having breakfast.
Baloo: So kids do you have any ideas for today?
Molly: I have no idea?
Kit: Well, there's this arcade that I'd love to try, but I don't see what we could do together either.
Rebbeca: Maybe we can take a little walk in the woods?
A voice is heard next to Bungalow 6.
Jenna: Hello Rebbeca.
Rebbeca: Hello Jenna.
Jenna: So do you have any plans for the day?
Rebbeca: Well we were thinking.
Jenna: So if you have no idea, why don't you come with us to the beach this afternoon?
The two children began to be excited.
Kit: That doesn't sound like a bad idea.
Molly: Maybe I could spend more time with Aleu.
Indeed during the meeting between the Loopilote gang and the Balto family, their children finally got along well and ended up becoming friends. Kit was in the living room playing video games with Kodi while Aleu was playing tag with Molly while the two parents had their tea telling stories about how they met or talking about their jobs.
Rebbeca: Well since our kids seem to be getting along well I don't see why we would refuse.
Jenna: In that case, let's meet here at 2 p.m.
Rebbeca: It works.
At the caravan parked at slot 18, the two cats were sitting in front of the table when they saw a bright green caravan moving towards them. Oggy smiled
Oggy: Looks like Jack and Monica just arrived.
The 4x4 pulling the caravan parked next to the Ottertons'. Jack and Monica exit the trailer and walk over to Oggy and Olivia.
Oggy hugged his sister (a blue cat with a red nose with blond pigtails) in his arms before going to greet Jack a green cat with a red nose.
Oggy: Hi Jack.
Jack: Hey Oggy
Oggy: So this trip went well.
Jack: Everything went really well, and you have plans for this afternoon?
Oggy: Oh Olivia and I were planning on going to the beach.
Jack: Well that's just what Monica and I had planned the same thing, We bought each other surfboards, it will be an opportunity to try them.
Oggy: Oh what I see Monica still likes sports.
At 2 p.m. the campers put on their bathing suits and descended the cliff with towels, bladders, inflatable boats, kites, surfboards or balls to play volleyball.
The Wilde family with the Hopps family and Gray were about to arrive at the beach when suddenly Alex, Peter and Johanna and their parents Nick and Judy recognized a familiar family of otters.
Judy Wilde: Octavia!
The mother otter turned around and recognized the rabbit.
Octavia Otterton: Judy, what a pleasant surprise.
The families hugged each other.
Judy Wilde: So you too came with your family to the campsite.
Octavia Otterton: And you too, by the way, you came with your parents and Mr. Gray and Olivia with this young sheep.
Sharla: My name is Sharla.
Octavia Otterton: Well nice to meet you Sharla.
Nick Wilde: So you're coming to the sea with us?
Emmitt Otterton: It would be nice, but our kids made some new friends last night, and they invited them to spend the afternoon with them so they're waiting for them here.
Josh Otterton: There they are dad, they're coming.
Everyone turned around and saw the lion family with the hedgehog family accompanied by an eagle, a rhinoceros and a crocodile.
Josh Otterton: Mom Dad, this is Luke and Sonia. Luke, Sonia these are my parents and more of our friends Alex, Peter and Johanna Wilde, Olivia Gray and Cotton Hopps and their parents.
Luke: Hello nice to meet you.
Sonia: Hello ladies and gentlemen.
Nick Wilde: Nice to meet you, my name is Nick Wilde.
Judy Wilde: My name is Judy
Emmitt Otterton: I am Emmitt Otterton the father of Lucas, Josh and Opale.
Octavia Otterton: And I am Octavia Otterton their mother.
Bonnie Hopps: My name is Bonnie Hopps
Stu Hopps: Stuart Hopps, but call me Stu.
Gideon Grey: Gideon Gray is at your service ladies and gentlemen.
Sharla: My name is Sharla
Clementine Wilde: Clementine Wilde.
Laval: Nice to meet you, my name is Laval and this is my wife Li'ella.
Li'ella: Hello.
Sonic: Hello my name is Sonic.
Amy: Hello my name is Amy.
Eris: My name is Eris.
Rogon: Hi I'm Rogon.
Cragger: And I'm Cragger.
Octavia Otterton: Well since everyone's here, we can go to the beach now.
The 15 adults and 10 children went to the beach. Everyone takes off their clothes leaving them in bathing suits.
Nick wore a green jersey, Judy a purple jersey, Alex a light blue jersey, Peter a red jersey, Johanna a yellow jersey, Gideon a purple jersey with white stripes, Olivia a light blue jersey with a purple stripe on each side, Sharla a light purple jersey, Octavia a dark blue jersey, Emmitt a dark green jersey, Lucas a white jersey, Josh an orange jersey, Opale a pink jersey, Bonnie a purple jersey with white polka dots, Stu a dark blue jersey, Cotton a blue jersey with a purple star, Laval a dark blue jersey with the symbol of the Lion tribe, Luke wore the same jersey as his father, Li'ella a red jersey, Eris a golden yellow jersey, Rogon a black jersey, Cragger a red shirt with the symbol of the crocodile tribe, Sonic a shirt a black shirt, Amy and a light green shirt and Sonia wore the same shirt as her mother.
Josh took a diving mask and a snorkel out of his beach bag. Peter took out his and the two of them headed out to sea to go do some diving.
Emmitt Otterton: Kids don't stray too far.
Luke, Lucas stay on the beach to build a sandcastle. Alex and Olivia both go swimming While Johanna and Cotton play frezzbe with Sonia and Opale.
Bonnie was sitting on a towel reading a book as was Clementine, Stu was lying down so he could sunbathe on the sand and Cragger went swimming to watch the kids. Emmit brought a net to play volleyball with the adults.
The first team consisted of Nick, Judy, Gideon, Sharla, Emmitt and Octavia. And the second was composed of Laval, Li'ella, Eris, Rogon, Sonic and Amy
While the parents rested or played volleyball, the children had fun each in their corner.
Lucas: We should build the castle near the sea, so we could build a canal that would bring water into the moat of our castle.
Luke: Then we could try building Uncle Cragger's castle.
Lucas was surprised.
Lucas: Your family lives in a castle?
Luke: Actually, my father, my mother and I live in a temple which is that of the lion tribe of the kingdom of Chima.
Lucas: Chima? It is in which country.
Luke: We actually live in a magical world and if we could come here it's thanks to the chaos control that Uncle Sonic was able to transport us here.
Lucas: And what is this place like?
Luke: Well everything has changed in our world since Mount Cavora came out of the ground and the water flowing from that mountain turned the animals into creatures that walk on two legs. The lions were the first to drink the chi water, they became its guardians and our role is to distribute it to the other tribes to maintain the balance.
Lucas: And your father and the chief of this tribe.
Luke: No, my grandfather King Lagravis rules the tribe, when he dies my father will rule the tribe and when he dies I will rule the lion tribe.
Lucas: So you are a prince.
Luke: Indeed.
Lucas: That's cool.
They heard two voices next to them and saw a brown bear in a black singlet playing with water guns with an all red husky in an orange singlet.
Kit: I got you Kodi.
Kodi: Well take that Kit.
The two children walk towards Luke and Lucas. In the chase Kit tripped and knocked
Luke by accident. Kit stood up and helped Luke up.
Kit: Excuse me for bringing you down.
Luke: It's okay I have nothing.
Lucas: Try to be a little more careful next time.
Kodi: You're right, we should have been careful.
Luke: By the way, since you're here, we should introduce ourselves. My name is Luke and this is my friend Lucas.
Kit: My name is Kit.
Kodi: And I'm Kodi.
Luke: Nice to meet you.
Kit: So what are you doing on the beach?
Lucas: We were going to build a sandcastle.
Kodi: That's great.
Luke: Would you like to build one with us?
Kodi: I agree, and you Kit?
Kit: Yeah why not.
While Kit, Kodi, Luke, and Lucas were building sandcastles, Johanna tossed the freezbe to Cotton, who tossed to Opale, who tossed to Sonia, and who tossed it back to Johanna. But the latter missed the freezbe and hit the head of a young wolf dog. The small group approached the wolf-dog who wore a pink jersey with white dots who was in the company of a bear in a dark blue jersey.
Sonia: I'm sorry I hurt you, I threw the freezebe a little too hard.
Aleu: It's fine, I'm fine.
Molly picked up the freeze and gave it to Sonia.
Molly: Here is your freezbe.
Sonia: Thank you very much. What's your name ?
Molly: My name is Molly.
Sonia: I'm Sonia.
Johanna Wilde: My name is Johanna.
Cotton Hopps: My name is Cotton.
Otterton Opal: Otterton Opal.
Aleu: I am Aleu.
Johanna Wilde: You want to come and play with us.
Molly: Well we were trying to inflate our inflatable boat that Aleu's dad brought us.
Sonia: Want a hand?
Aleu: Oh yes that would be nice, thank you.
Johanna took the boat and began to inflate, before letting Cotton take over.
Cotton Hopps: Here it is, inflated and ready to go to sea.
Aleu: Thank you very much.
Johanna: Say, I've never tried an inflatable boat, can we try it after you, please?
Sonia: Not for me, thank you.
Molly: Of course, but there's only room for 2 people, we'll have to take turns doing this.
Opale: In that case we'll let you start.
While the children are having fun, the parents continue their Volleyball matches with the Zootopia team leading 5 to 4 against the Chima team.
Sonic: Come on guys, nothing's lost yet.
Laval: You're right Sonic let's show them what a hedgehog as fast as you and the inhabitants of a magical world are capable of.
Nick Wilde: I see you've decided to pull out all the stops.
Judy Wilde: But we're going to show you what Zootopia's two best cops and their friends have in their bellies.
At this moment everyone gave their all to win the victory for their team. But after 10 minutes everyone started to feel tired.
Eris: We've been playing for over 10 minutes, if this continues we'll all fall asleep like Blacvic
Amy: We'd have to have other players to finish this asap.
At this time the two bears, a wolf dog and a young husky appear. Baloo wore a savanna yellow jersey, Balto a black jersey, Rebecca a pink jersey and Jenna a dark orange jersey.
Balto: Oh I see you look like you need a hand.
Nick Wilde: You can tell we are 6 everywhere.
Baloo: And how high you count to win.
Laval: We have to be at 10 to win.
Baloo: By bananas but you are 4 points ready.
Amy: You think it's easy M Bear
Baloo: Well I guess we can help you out eventually.
Jenna: Well, that will keep us all busy.
At this point everyone introduced themselves and decided to join in the volleyball match. Suddenly Baloo and Rebbeca are put in the camp Zootopia, while Balto and Jenna joined the camp of Chima.
The game was resumed and each player gave his all to bring his team to victory.
But back to the children Peter and Josh continued to scuba dive while Alex and Olivia continued to bathe lovers under the supervision of Cragger, Lucas, Luke, Kit and Kodi built a gigantic sandcastle, and Aleu, Molly, Johanna, Cotton, Opale and Sonia had fun with the inflatable boat.
Molly and Aleu were sailing the seas with the boat that was pulled by Opale, Sonia, Johanna and Cotton were sitting on the sand watching the beach.
Johanna Wilde: Well I have to say this place is wonderful for making friends.
Cotton Hopps: That's right cousin.
Behind the three young girls, A teenage dark grey rabbit with a black singlet approached, put his towel on the floor and lay on his stomach and mainly looked at the two rabbits with admiration.
Johanna Wilde: Tell me Sonia how did you meet Luke?
Sonia: Oh we are childhood friends because our parents are very good friends.
The Rabbit: And what are your first names?
But none of the three friends answered the rabbit and continued to discuss among themselves.
Sonia: And you two are cousins.
Johanna Wilde: Yes, Cotton is my mother Judy Hopps' niece.
Cotton Hopps: By the way, I'm his favorite niece.
Rabbit: I'm Jean-Claude Bebel and you?
Sonia: And what do your parents do for a living?
Johanna Wilde: My parents are Zootopia's first police officer rabbit and fox and they saved the town in a plot to turn the prey on the town's predators.
Cotton Hopps: And my parents are farmers on a farm in Bunnyburrow. And what are yours doing?
Sonia My Father defends our world which is threatened by an individual calling himself Dr. Eggman.
Cotton Hopps: So your dad is a hero like my aunt and uncle.
Sonia: Yes we can say that.
Johanna: And why do you say our world.
Sonia: Because I come from another world and my father holds rings that allow us to travel from one universe to another.
Cotton Hopps: That's great.
Johanna Wilde: And practical.
Jean-Claude was beginning to lose patience.
Jean-Claude Bebel: Yeah living in an imaginary world, I bet they ignore me on purpose these two bitches with their strange friend.
The three friends turned and looked at the rabbit with a frustrated expression.
Johanna Wilde: No, but it's okay, little rude.
Sonia: Are you calling me weird?
Jean-Claude Bebel: No it's the Easter bunny, of course it's you. Who can believe that someone comes from an imaginary world.
Sonia (with an air of anger): I'm not from an imaginary world, I'm from another world.
Jean-Claude Bebel: Yes that is imaginary.
Johanna Wilde: If she says the place she's from is real, then it's real.
Cotton Hopps: Because we don't believe it.
Jean-Claude Bebel: Well, you are free to believe in unreal things that a 3-year-old might believe. Meanwhile, I'm going to go swimming.
Jean-Claude began to run towards the sea, leaving Johanna, Cotton and Sonia all alone.
Sonia: That's it, go bathe in your rotten bathing suit.
Jean-Claude replied with a raised finger.
Meanwhile Peter and Josh got out of the water saw that the three girls were pissed off and heading towards them.
Peter Wilde: What's going on Johanna?
Johanna Wilde: It was that grey rabbit who called Cotton and me bitches.
Sonia: And he said I was weird and living in a world that doesn't exist.
Josh Otterton (annoyed): So that, he's not going to get away with it easily.
Peter Wilde: I think I have an idea Josh.
Peter moved closer to Josh and whispered something in his ear.
Josh was starting to smile.
Josh Otterton: Well let's go Peter.
The fox and the otter handed their diving masks and snorkels to Johanna and Cotton and went back into the water to reach Jean-Claude who was swimming quietly before being grabbed by Josh and Peter who lifted him up and Peter tipped him over. Josh so that the latter can remove the swimsuit of Jean-Claude who was panicking.
Jean-Claude: But what are you doing get off me!
Johanna, Cotton and Sonia watched the scene from afar and started laughing.
Johanna Wilde: They stole her swimming trunks.
Cotton Hopps: And now his ass looks good.
Sonia: At least it's good for him.
The two friends let go of the bunny and went back to the beach with his bathing suit and stood next to the girls.
Jean-Claude was always in the water trying to hide his body so as not to be seen naked.
Jean-Claude: That's very funny, now give it back.
Peter Wilde: Well if you want to pick it up.
Josh Otterton: And at the same time, apologize to my friends.
Jean-Claude bends down to the sand at the bottom of the sea to grab seaweed to hide his buttocks and genitals and climbs out of the sea approaching Peter and Josh.
Jean-Claude: Well I apologize ladies for calling you a bitch and for saying that your friend was weird.
Peter handed him back his jersey.
Peter Wilde: Here's your jersey, and now that we don't see you again.
The rabbit put on his swimsuit in a flash, took his towel and left for another part of the beach.
Josh Otterton; Now do you feel better?
Sonia: Yes thank you Josh and to you too Peter.
Peter Wilde: Oh but you're welcome Sonia.
Josh Otterton: Oh do where Opale is.
Johanna Wilde: She went to pull the boat of two of our friends Molly and Aleu.
Peter turned his head for a moment and was dazzled.
Peter Wilde: Hey look guys it looks like Luke and Lukas have made some new friends too.
Everyone looked at the children who were building sand castles. Johanna: It's great we should join them. Cotton Hopps: Maybe we should wait for Aleu and Molly too. Peter Wilde: Well let's wait for them so we can get to know them. Meanwhile in the warm sea, Monica and Jack were surfing with their surfboards, Alex and Olivia were swimming and Molly and Aleu were sailing with their inflatable boat which was pulled by Opale. During the navigation, the boat met Alex and Olivia and the rabbit recognized the otter. Alex Wilde: Hey Opal. The otter stopped pulling and turned. Opale Otterton: Ah hi Alex. Alex Wilde: I see you've made some new friends. Opale Otterton: Yes this is Molly and Aleu. Molly, Aleu this is my friends Alex Wilde and Olivia Grey. Hello said the two young girls and the Wolf-Rabbit couple who did the same. Alex Wilde: Said Opale I would like to ask you where my sister, my cousin and Sonia are, I thought you were together. Opale Otterton: Oh they stayed on the beach waiting for their inflatable boat ride. Molly Cunningham: By the way, they must be dying of impatience right now. Aleu: Then let's join them. The rabbit, the 2 wolves, the bear cub and the otter returned to the beach where they found Johanna, Peter, Cotton, Josh and Sonia, where Johanna introduced her brother Peter and Josh Opale's brother to Molly and Aleu.
Aleu then you are brother and sister being rabbit and fox.
Johanna Wilde: Yes my mother is a rabbit and my father is a fox.
Molly Cunningham: And they can have kids.
Alex Wilde: At Zootopia there is a program that allows a couple of different species to have children.
Molly Cunningham: It must be wonderful.
Aleu: Well now it's your turn to take the boat now.
Johanna Wilde: Oh yeah, but we noticed some other friends of ours are out there making sandcastles and we thought maybe we could join them.
Molly, Aleu, Alex, Olivia and Opale looked in the indicated direction.
Aleu: Eh Kodi and Kit joined them
At this time the 9 children joined the 4 boys.
Josh Otterton: Lucas, Luke.
The otter and the lion turned around and discovered the source of the voice.
Lucas Otterton: Hey Josh I see you've made some other friends too.
Josh Otterton: Yes this is Aleu and Molly, Molly Aleu this is my brother Lucas and my friend Luke.
Lucas Otterton: Nice to meet you, and this is Kit and Kodi. Kit, Kodi I present to you my brother Josh and my friends, Alex, Peter and Johanna Wilde, Cotton Hopps, Olivia Gray and Sonia.
Each of the children say hello to each other.
Kit: Well I see you've met Kodi's sister, Lucas' sibling and my friend Molly.
Alex Wilde: It's quite a fluke indeed.
Lucas Otterton: We're building sand castles, would you like to join us?
Molly Cunnigham: We're fine, but if not, we can also lend you our inflatable boat.
After a few decisions, Johanna and Cotton went for a ride with Aleu's boat, while the others built castles.
A few minutes later the constructions were finished. When when they saw a gigantic sandcastle next to a blue cat with a red nose wearing a red shirt with white stripes.
The children looked at the castle with admiration.
Peter Wilde: This castle is magnificent sir.
Oggy turned around and saw the children
Oggy: Oh thank you kids.
Josh Otterton: Tell sir how did you manage to build a gigantic castle?
Oggy: I have good equipment.
Josh Otterton: And can we borrow it please? We promise to be careful.
Oggy: Fine, but tell me, aren't you one of Emmitt Otterton's children?
Josh Otterton: Yeah that's my dad.
Oggy: Well since you want to use my gear, just bring it back to my trailer, it's next to yours at slot 18.
Josh Otterton: So you're our neighbor.
Oggy: Yes that's right my name is Oggy.
Josh Otterton: Great, my name is Josh and this is my brother Lucas and my sister Opale and our friends Alex, Peter, Olivia, Luke, Sonia, Kit, Molly, Kodi and Aleu.
Oggy: Well I'm glad to have met you. My material is there.
Oggy pointed to the bag where there were molds to build the castle walls and big seals to make the towers. The children took the bag while Oggy joined his wife who was in a purple bathing suit and reading a book lying on a towel.
But back to the parents, at the moment the match was 9 to 9, both teams were well trained and gave all their talents.
Nick Wilde: Okay guys one more goal to score before you win or lose.
Laval: Well good luck to the winning team.
Nick throws the ball, which Eris sends back to the opposing camp before being hit by Gideon or Sonic catches the ball and passes it to Laval who sends it back to Zootopia's camp. But Judy bent her legs and gave all of her strength to jump high and punch the ball hard as it slammed into Team Chima's court.
It was finally the Zootopia team who won the match, Nick, Judy and their friends were happy to have won, Laval then approached Judy and shook her hand.
Laval: Congratulations, you all played really well, you deserve your victory.
Judy Wilde: Thank you very much Laval you also played very well.
Then the two teams turned around and faced Rebecca, Jenna, Baloo and Balto where everyone thanked them for helping them get into the match.
Rebecca turned around and noticed and saw her daughter with Kit, Kodi, Aleu, and a group of children.
Rebecca Cunnigham: Ah I see Molly, Kit, Kodi and Aleu have made some new friends and built a big sandcastle.
Everyone looked at the castle and were satisfied and recognized the other children.
Judy Wilde there are also my 2 sons Peter and Alex.
Gideon: My daughter Olivia is with them.
Octavia Otterton: And my kids Lucas, Josh and Opale.
Laval: My son Luke is there too.
Sonic: With my daughter Sonia.
Nick Wilde: Well it looks like all of our kids eventually got along and became friends.
Judy Wilde: True, but I don't see Jojo and Cotton.
Nick Wilde: I'll go ask them.
Nick approached his two sons and asked them where their sister and cousin were. The rabbit and the fox told their father that they were going for a ride in an inflatable boat. Nick turned around and saw the two rabbits coming back to the beach with the boat ready to join the other children. And with that Nick turned around and went back to the adults and thus left the children alone.
On the return Nick, Judy, Octavia, Emmitt, Baloo, Balto, Sharla and Gideon leave to join Cragger who continue to bathe. And the others stayed lying on the sand to sunbathe or read books.
Josh noticed that his parents made new friends too.
Josh Otterton: Hey Lucas, Opale, Alex, Peter, Johanna, looks like our parents made some new friends too.
Everyone turned around and saw the family of otters and the rabbit-fox couple with familiar faces.
Kit: Baloo is with them.
Kodi: And my dad is there too.
Aleu: And I see my mom with Molly's with other people.
Everyone looked up the beach.
Luke: My parents are with them.
Sonia: And mine too.
Alex Wilde: Looks like our parents finally got along with yours.
Peter Wilde: Well that gives me an idea.
Johanna Wilde: And what is Peter.
Peter Wilde: We could ask our parents to give us a day to spend time with each other.
Alex Wilde: That's a good idea.
Cotton Hopps: But already our parents are busy so why don't we start our new friendship with a good swim in the sea.
Johanna Wilde: I'm in and you.
Each of the children replied "Me too" and eagerly raced out to sea.
Kids and adults alike enjoyed the sun and the water by snorkeling, splashing around or laying on the beach. But every fun moment comes to an end.
Around 3:30 p.m. the adults called back their children who were coming out of the water and collecting their beach items. Josh took the opportunity to return Oggy's gear.
The 14 children approached their parents, Peter approached his 2 parents.
Peter Wilde: Mom, Dad can I ask you something?
Judy Wilde: Sure what is it honey?
Peter Wilde: Well today we made new friends Alex, Johanna and me. And we also saw that you got along well with their parents, and I thought that we could have a day to spend with our friends alone. Do you agree please?
Judy Wilde: Well I agree as long as you stay in the campsite or on the beach, but that has to depend on their parents' opinion as well.
Octavia Otterton: I heard it all Peter and I too have nothing against you spending a day together.
Rebecca Cunnigham: Same for me as long as the big ones take care of the little ones.
Jenna: I agree too.
Li'ella: Same for me.
Amy: And for me too.
Judy Wilde: Well I guess it can be done.
Octavia: You just have to join us at our caravan which is at location 17 tomorrow around 10:00 a.m.
The children were happy to be able to spend a day together tomorrow and only between children.
