Hans had some second-hand VR equipment to try out with a new survival game called Nox Vesta, only to discover he was stuck as his magic-user character Shayl.

I got a little carried away and wrote about this scenario for over 10K words recently. (Currently up on Patreon.) It might turn into a book eventually, with modification. Part of what's neat about it is that it's a small-scale survival/crafting game instead of an MMO. The quests are open-ended ones about exploring new environments to summon and defeat bosses, while expanding the small circle of light in the eternal darkness.
