[CW: Description contains depressing content]

Context: This is a goodbye artwork for our dear friend Maxiu, who has passed away on 21.05.2023 (Officially 24.05.2023). His death was very unexpected to everyone. This artwork is a memorial for him from not only me, but many of his friends. The creation of this artwork was discussed on Silesian telegram chat. If you knew Maxiu and wish something more was included, please let me know. I don’t mind updating this artwork.

1. General note
I want to thank a lot everyone who helped to create this.

All those who contributed with ideas, even if I didn’t use them in the end. Therefore I apologize in advance for only crediting the ideas I used, but this was already getting a bit chaotic.
I wanted to include as many real items as possible. Because as much as I could draw something really generic and have this image more consistent in style, I want to present items which hold significance to various people and help to maintain good memories.

2. Items significance:
First we got Maxiu’s car collection. He was a huge fan to say the least. Thanks for The Watcher for forwarding photos of them to me. Of course I didn’t include all of them. On the image:
*Aston Martin DBR9 “GULP” - he had been gifted from Dagre (On art: in Maxiu’s paw)
*Lamborghini Murciélago LP670 R-SV (I really hope that’s the same as Lamborghini Murciélago SV Maxiu was specifically referring to often) – According to what Maxiu told Woorinz it was a car of his dreams. The one on the image is based on the car model which was in Maxiu’s collection.
*And third car is Porsche 911 GT2 Evo. Another car in Maxiu’s possession.

*It was stated in Maxiu’s ref he’s likes 80’s aesthetics. Nadi told me about Maxiu’s plan to get 80’s styled radio and fix it with him one day. Sadly this didn’t happen.

On the lighter side:
*Maxiu was using certain stickers waaay too often. From my side I decided to include a hot-dog reminding of vore jokes we kept doing on Silesian chat, during which he always posted a sticker of marten in the hot dog bun.
*He was also using a sticker of marten in a toilet paper roll. As it was suggested by The Watcher to draw it, we had a short discussion about including this, but quoting Maxiu himself what is the meaning of this sticker: “well paper :v”. Well paper, it is included then! I will write more about it in the end.

* Phone with Maxiu’s Eurovision 2023 votes – This is a thing from me, as I got in a silly confrontation with some normies on twitter, who were having quite a reaction to me being a furry rooting for Finland. Maxiu was the only person to comment the post and stand on my side (being called a Finnish Furry in the process). It wasn’t like a drama or anything serious, but I did appreciate his support.
*Another on his phone is the last message he sent me. 3 hours before he went offline I sent The Sims 4 video on public chat and much later, 36 minutes before his final disappearance he sent it back to me with a timestamp and comment “Najlepszy gender reveal xD”: https://youtu.be/WHtrWTGpN1Q?t=396

* A card from game “Boss Monster”. Early in 2023 I managed to meet Maxiu in person and we had fun playing the game in game-themed pub. Some normies saw us playing and joined in. At one point of the game Maxiu played the “Kobold strike” card, which blocks the ability to build. The very second he played it a Jenga on the table next to us collapsed. xD

* Racing flag… well, no significance, maybe just the fact he had it in his bio.
3. Art used

HUUUUGE THANK YOU to artists who gave me permission to use their artworks. This was very important to me, as Maxiu was a very in-character person and I wanted to preserve especially the artworks he used as his telegram avatars, as it’s only a matter of time telegram deletes his account and these will be gone.
Also huge thanks to some of my friends who helped me on technicalities on this artwork, as this was a very demanding image from me considering how I usually draw. I won’t name you all, but I really appreciate everything you did and each comment I received during work. But the one who deserves the naming the most is Tyr, who was holding calls with me to make sure I work on it and helped me a loooot with anatomy.

* bottom left: A silly edit based on game Neighbours from Hell (and I admit, pre-edit head was taken from Raxell’s artwork, but it was for an inside joke only at first and I didn’t think I’d publically submit it). One time, as Severo announced his new fursona design and how he detaches his leg when he’s going to bed, Maxiu was eager to give it a bite and kept threatening him with it. Just harmless fun.

4. Why the image, final thoughts and goodbye.

There were 2 silly drawings I planned to draw for Maxiu while he was still with us. When I learnt about his death and a few days later I tried to draw something non-related, I couldn’t get it out from my head that now he’ll never see the 2 things I wanted to do for him and I felt the need to draw him something, but bigger and better.
Also for a few days anytime I found anything fun searching the Internet I was about to press the forward button and send it to him.. but then “oh right, he won’t view it” hit me over and over. This is the first death in my life of someone I was actually talking to on daily basis.


Death is sad, but now that month has passed I’m glad about one thing. Whenever I think of him, my first reaction is not to be sad, not regret any moments that could’ve happened, but to smile at things I remember about him. Reading this description above, I know some of the stuff I decided to put in it might seem not suitable for a TYPICAL memorial for deceased, but in Maxiu’s case I don’t think he’d really mind. Some of stuff I put above are also very specific and situational. Because that’s the kind of joy he was bringing. Not just sharing random memes, but his personality is what caused most of situations in the first place. He was a very in-character person, always cheerful and joining the fun whenever possible. Many of his friends and he himself (it’s even in his bio) were calling him “Pest” referring to his playful attitude (and the fact marten was a very fitting fursona choice). He was always giving positive vibes, I can’t recall a single bad memory related to him. In my opinion he did manage to leave a legacy of a mischievous (in a good way) and very friendly marten and I want to make sure he's remembered this way.
