<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>Conversely, not every plush is a winner: sadly this little Umbreon plush didn't work out exactly as I planned and suffered from some major oversights... sorry buddy...! This is about the best photo I can get of him, here he's hanging out in a pile on top of my Luxray plush. I'm mostly frustrated with how the head turned out on this guy. First, I couldn't find my box of red fleece scraps to make his eyes, so I gave up and made blue irises with white whites, and then immediately found the box of red fabric the next week. Oops. Second, I tried to save time by making the entire eye panel and forehead ring all at once on the embroidery machine; it worked, but I had to compromise on the pattern design and skip adding a seam above the brow that would have given the head a lot more shape, and as a result his head ended up becoming really long, flat, and conical... The longer head does make this guy look more rabbit-like, so I guess that's okay given Umbreon's design is based on the fable of the rabbit in the moon...!
