Description:- A parasitic fish that lives in the deepest parts of the ocean and uses sonar for travel.

The Tail Swallower survives by latching on to the lower half of a fish, swallowing its tail (hence the name Tail Swallower). Once the fish has latched onto a creature, the Tail Swallower will begin to fuse with the creature until the Tail Swallower has become one with its host.

The creatures who have had a Tail Swallower merge with them will have no mental alterations and will remain in complete control of their body and total control of their new tail. The creature will be able to move faster in the water and be able to swim further down than it could before.

If Tail Swallower latches onto a creature of the opposite sex, then during the fusion, the Tail Swallower will release impregnated Tail Swallower eggs from under its fins, which will sink into the ocean and eventually hatch into more Tail Swallower.

If Tail Swallower latches onto a creature of the same sex, then the Tail Swallower will change its host's gender during the fusion process. Due to the fish having to use its energy to change its host's gender, the Tail Swallower will produce fewer eggs.

The latter rarely happens when the Tail Swallower latches on to a fish as it is very good at noticing the differences of all fish species with its sonar. Mammals, on the other hand, the Tail Swallower finds it very hard to differentiate between the male and female gender; thus, it tends to latch onto the wrong gender.

To reproduce, the Tail Swallower latches onto the lower half of other fishes of the opposite sex and begins to fuse with it. The Tail Swallower dies during the fusion process, but it produces hundreds of Tail Swallower eggs.

In case the Tail Swallower starts to merge with a fish of the same sex, the Tail Swallower does have the ability to change the gender of its host.

Once the fusion is done, the fish fuse to become faster, stronger and survive in deeper parts of the ocean.

Due to the fish, it latches onto moving deeper into the ocean, and the Tail Swallowers have moved with them; thus, no one had seen or heard of the Tail Swallower until recent years.

With the Tail Swallowers moving closer to the ocean's surface and towards seaside towns, there have been many reports of Tail Swallowers latching onto and fusing with humans, effectively turning the humans into merpeople.

Fortunately, the sea tides pull the Tail Swallower eggs produced by the transformation into the sea, meaning that people can still enter the water. Still, local governments close off areas where merpeople transformations occur to ensure no legs are around.
