It's done. I got art of all six Animate, the artificial life forms found in the world of Desert Wind. Individually they are called an Animus, collectively they are The Animate. Art was done by http://artofkeresia.yolasite.com/gallery.php
Where the Animate gained their sentience and sapience is unknown. Proto models of the Gaia were designed for assorted menial or brutal tasks, and their creators found it to be convenient to endow them with greater levels of independence and thinking skills than a simple golem. Spmewhere along the lines of designing this magical artificial intelligence, some line was crossed so that the Animate being produced were endowed with intelligence rivaling that of people. The advent of the Animate is hardly a generation old, and their status is in a limbo between slaves and sovereign citizens, and their state of freedom is varied between all six of the nations of Ulindar.
The first model of Animus, is the Gaia. They're used primarily for hard labor like logging or mining, but their sturdy design makes them competent body guards and soldiers. they're the largest model, standing at 7 feet tall and weighing close to 500 pounds, with a heavy, boxy design that feels almost clumsy. Gaia are known for their durability and longevity. Their personalities tend to be slightly curt or brutish, and their slightly notorious for their rudimentary intelligence. Their magical core that powers them is rooted in Terramancy.
The second design is the Tidus. The Tidus were used first to act as a sort of coast guard, taking advantage of their lack of needing to breath. Later models included complex gyroscopes that allowed the mechanical race to simulate swimming. These Animate are designed to be heavyweight and low maintenance. Their personalities are calm in the face of adversity and tend to be reserved when dealing with others. Their core is powered by Undumancy. They stand between six to six and half feet tall and weigh around 250 pounds.
The alien looking Lilith were the first Animus designed with war in mind. A standard Lilith model stands almost 7 feet tall due to their alien leg structure, but weight only 275 pounds on average. Their plantigrade leg design was created so that they could navigate difficult terrain, like swamps, with ease. The Lilith's core is powered by Pyromancy, and their assertive personalities reflect that.
The Seraphina were designed to be delivery men and messengers. they are lightweight, fast, and slightly fragile. Seraphinas are short, with the tallest barely cropping five feet and weighing only 150 pounds. they tend to use more wood in their designs than metal to save on weight. Most Seraphinas have hasty, eager personalities. Their core is powered by Aethermancy.
The Iorek are few and far between, and require catalysts of above average intensity in order to power the magical wards that make them so powerful and durable. Ioreks are loyal to their superiors, with militaristic, structured mindsets that make them naturally obedient, although they place high value on honor and respect. Ioreks stand at just under 7 feet, weighing around 500 pounds. Their cores are powered by Aegis.
The last model is known as the Lyra. Lyras were designed to be personal Animus, servants, and generally designed to interact with other people. They are highly perceptive and speak eloquently. Their cores are powered by Psychomancy. The Lyra is the smallest model, standing at four and a half feet tall and weighing around 100 pounds.
