So being that  TsuYagami has since been designing Julien in her own way from character design to backstory, I started working up a little of my own. It's based on this stupid running gag in the All Hail King Julien Netflix series where Julien and Clover write these medieval fanfictions about themselves where they are larger-than-life Conan-like superheroes. Using that, I came up with this idea half-assed called the "Fanfic-Verse" where it takes place in this distant planet in some pocketed universe much like a mix of the Lost Land from Turok and the Wasteland from Epic Mickey: The planet is called Dastune and it's linked in the center of a bunch of cosmic one-way portals that suck people and things through like an interdimensional Bermuda Triangle and dumps them all here. So it this mixed world of trapped people, technology, and things that range from advanced tech to barbaric cultures and creatures, so most of everything takes on a large mish-mash, like a primitive technological Mad-Max world.I also used this as an excuse to make a lot of the costume designs just outright references to other things, to really hit on that 'fanfiction' sense, so I just had Tsu design Julien in the outfit from a little known post apocalyptic 80s B-movie called "She". I think he looks rather stunning in it. X3

Short story on Julien here is that he's a descendant of noble family that discarded him, seeking immortality rather than raise a heir, but he survived being abandoned and grew up in the wastes thanks to some runaway servants that sheltered him. He also carries a magic sword that only his blood kin can use, which has been what's also kept him alive for so long.
