This is Bailey Tulina, a Moth Pixen created for Misty as a thank you. What's a Pixen? Why they're Pixie Vixens, standing between 5 and 6 inches tall. I'll be drawing a few more in this series, and each image shall have lore in the description.
[*Warning: Incoming Lore*]
For those whom came first, the feel of the untouched fresh soil of Gilritlua was like walking on heaven. A place of new home, of new chances, of something unlike anything they had been used to from the home they left far behind.
And, standing out with the rising warmth of Mie and Hap falling on them...how could one say anything other than this when they looked at everything before them?
That was the view of the first colonists to this new world, the first of what might be many by a people who crawled from their new home to the time when they got to be the ones who saw the dawn of what could only be birth of something grand as they expanded in their home system. Dreaming as they did of the time, maybe one day, when they might reach out and touch the stars themselves.
And, if chance let them, be able to find their long lost home across the sea of stars.
But that was another time, far from the now. For now they had work to do as they dismantled their ships and began the work of establishing themselves on this new world. There was so much to do now, so much see, so much to explore! The lush green forests tempted many to venture in and discover what might be in there, if only due to the glow that shine so bright at night from them that could even be seen from space!
There was the many islands, and the beautiful seas to discover and cross. Beaches for one to lay on and watch the world drift by, or, at least, the sight of Cazar as it floated far above in the sky. Always watching and guarding the lost flock as they rediscovered their way in the universe.
In short, it was paradise found. A garden where one could reshape themselves into something unlike anything they dreamed of. They just needed the chance.
But first, it was the hard work that needed to be done. Breaking the ships down, was one. There was also making sure they set-up a communication network with Martu, so those back home could know they made it safe and sound. And finally, there was the task of going out and drawing up the plans for the future colony. Space set aside for the future homes, for where the farms would be started. Space moved aside so animals could come down that would feed and cloth these settlers. The schools, the medical centres, the sites for mines and fishing ports that would need to spring up to ensure the success of endeavour to pull humanity up by the long ladder towards the grand future that awaited.
That was, of course, saying nothing for the community spaces that soon built up. The locations for people to come together and share things, or a drink. To share a game or two. Much would be cleared to make a more perfect paradise.
As the waves of people came on down over the next few years, it really was making this home something so much better than the one they left on Martu, a home that was meant to save them and their lost people, which had grown sick in time with all they had done to it. This fresh start was making sure none of that ever happened here.
Well...that was until the day, in a remote corner of one of the new settlements. A strange woman walked into one of the bars.
The town had fast made itself a leader in the art of fishing, and was well known for the great catches it was bringing in to feed the people of this world. Soon it would grow enough that they could cut themselves off from those supply drops from Martu, and really show how well they could go standing on their own feet and lift them all up from the ground.
That was the idea, at least, until this strange woman showed up at the bar one day. It was simply nothing more than a request to be offered just a small offering of some basic food and a drink. It was a small matter, mundane even, but the townsfolk had no time for this strange woman who had crossed their path, and they made it clear that, as a united people with a high future on the cards, that her and others like her would be unwelcome to their part of paradise.
She simply smiled at them, and offered a word of warning that curses are ones that one brings down upon themselves. It is how they shape what might come that shows if it is one that defines things from that.
And with that, she disappeared while their world changed before them during the bright glow that danced across the sky.
Glossary of Locations:
Mie: Red Dwarf star, name corrupted version of Minea (which was based on an older name). Named for a figure of great power who helped judge the lost people to their new home and protected them in shadow from those whom might try to harm them.
Hap: Yellow main type star, Mie is in orbit of this star. Name is derived from the name Hasperus, who was another figure who guided lost people to their new home. Was known as the guiding light who lead the way.
Cazar: Gas Giant, in orbit of Mie. Name is a corruption of the great leader who saved the lost people from the fate that had befallen them when others has chased them and forced them to flee their home in the stars.
Martu: Home world settled by the lost people deep in the past after they fled their lost home. It orbits Cazar as a moon, but is Earth-like world that ranges from artic type to tropical.
Gilritlua: Another moon of Cazar, one that is filled with mostly shallow seas and island chains. There is also a large ocean, and at least one sized landmass continent. Was long known to be a location filled with lush forests that would glow at night. Name is a corruption of an older name, but for a figure of myth who lead the way.
