Dear Zombie raptor baby (did I go too far?) Jesus (there we go) that was excellent work. Laughed and learned a lot through that entire thing. Loved the voice acting in the show and I hope that your are willing to make more in the future, say for those that sell solely online, maybe those that sell 3d work or want 3d work. Either way high praise indeed.
There is no word in the English language to express how awesome this is. Its like a gymnast at the Olympics flipping around the bars, doing a flying backwards somersault dismount...while on fire....and smiling through the entire thing. I mean the Donna Reed 1960's PSA music + the humor + the legit info being provided. You nailed it. Flawless dismount. =D
Very well done. Just missed one point. The artist should do the work in a timely manner. Meaning, if they can't finish a commission they received on Friday at the con then on Sunday say they can't finish it and will mail it after the con, then do it. Don't wait for 2 years to full fill your commission.
What's more amazing?
1) Someone (me) did?
2) Someone (anyone) actually READ through the comments?
3) My punch card pr0nz! collection?

Was eh, sure the speaking parts were great, but what's the point of having just two static characters standing there? I mean, all they do is raise art, facial expression change, etc...
Was alright, nothing all to great. The first minute or so was fine, then it was like...huh...guess I need to keep watching to see if it get funny again.

How not to suck at making a flash video: if it is too long, add an option to jump to specific parts of the video. Putting on YouTube helps alleviate this problem as well.
On the upside, this is an outstanding piece of animated common sense for the masses (one could assume the masses have common sense, but... let's not go delve into that rabbit hole).
Faved for sanity!.

Awesome.
I know I've got my flaws (*cough* stood around Silvermoon's table for like 4 hours *cough*) but I do my best (always made room for other browsers and held conversation while she discussed with them--and of course, left once in a while. She was cool about it too: loved the company).

I am totally guilty at being overly verbose when I ask for commissions. Sometimes I think I stifle creativity that way. But I usually do wrap it up with telling them not to sweat it, it was to give an idea and to do what'll work for them as they try and give it to me rather than trip over every detail.
Most times it works out. But yeah, much like artists sometimes need lots of structure and some need little, commissioners fall into similar categories. But in the end, it's all about the agreements reached, so talk it out.
Great flash.

This is awesome! Bloodhound is doing a panel on commissions at Anthrocon, can you offer to let her show it?
If you run into copyright concerns with the music, some similar-sounding public domain music is available on www.archive.org -- search for "Stock Music 1950" in the Audio category and select the results for Hi-Q, Bill Loose, Loose-Seely and Seely-Loose. This literally was the music Hanna-Barbera used for its early cartoons before they hired Hoyt Curtin. Also used by many 1950s sitcoms.

I wanted to laugh at this but from the first second on it was calling the client a commissioner ----> http://timenerdworld.files.wordpres.....onergordon.jpg
and then I couldn't get that image out of my head. XD

I don't understand why an artist would expect a tip. Its not like they're wage slaves.. all that money goes directly to them, exactly like a tip. So if you want more money, ask for it. If a higher cost will scare off customers, maybe you shouldn't expect it. If theres some corporate entity all furry artists work for then nevermind.
Excellent work. I have a couple of small suggestions:
1. Add a pause function to the flash file.
2. Add a replay function to the flash file instead of having it loop.
3. One other thing that a commissioner needs to do with every commission is ask the artist if they would like a copy or scan of the finished sketch. Some artists will have the equipment to do it at the con, others will need the commissioner to do it for them and send it. Digital scans are most common, but an artist can always ask for photocopies, photographs, or a lithograph carved into a sheet of the commissioner's earwax.

Okay need to pimp this.

IE: The Person buying... Or the Furson buying if you want to get all subcultury and weird with your vocabulary like the Murry purry furry mcflurry drinking hurrie-durry that you erry, err... Are.
I listened to it about.... 7 times to make sure I had it right. So if it's wrong.... Please don't correct me and let me have my fun =D

If I may, I now have a new thing to add to the "do/don't/courtesy" category: "Don't pound on either the artist's or adjacent artist's tables while talking to the artist, or waiting on your friend to finish commissioning said artist. This includes knocking a rhythm on, bopping a pop bottle on, kicking, or otherwise physically disturbing the tables. Not only does is disrupt said artist's concentration, but if they're inking something, this could also mean the work is ruined because of their pen moving with the table and they may have to start over."
relivant to D "Probe" "Soup" cause I like soup and many types dang it, hehe "All crossed out cussing" That's all I have to say about cussing, hehe. This very insightful and I'm glad it was made.
Its very because I'm a cave dweller and can't get to a con if I wanted to. Dang it. I would love to goto a con.

This is hilarious as hell, but that witty charm is entertaining. Entertaining works wonders in driving home points since if people can enjoy things, they're more likely to remember (good memories! ... unless they nearly got SHOT, but hey..).
Very good info here. Thanks for sharing. Mind if others link to this, like for their commission info/seeking?

Best thing I've seen in a long time. I watched it through twice, and laughed so much all the way through that my neighbour was banging on the wall to get me to shut up. So perfect, in every way. Forget about just showing it at cons, this should be shown to everyone, if everyone on the internet had this as their impression of what we are about...
One of very few things that have helped to restore my appreciation for the fandom after all that other stuff out there, I consider myself lucky to be able to see this. I may have to steal quotes from this for my university course.

This is a super good guide for both Sides. But I definitely think the Artist section should be somewhat expanded.
Such as, giving your contact info means nothing if they never use it and make it your responsibility to run around trying to find them Monday morning, when they have everything but your social security number.... and more such things as NOT ignoring notes and keeping in contact. 99% of my problems with artists is when they ignore/don't respond to my polite notes asking for progress. It comes off to the commissioner as rude even if that wasn't the intention.
But I think as a whole it's a pretty good guide.
