The Lioness
A Promptoberfest poem

Prompt: lace
There was a lioness who was full of grace;
She drew mens’ gazes when she left her place,
For between her top and pants there was a space
And all could see underwear of finest lace.
She’d been a player in a football league,
The reason she left held no intrigue;
Because, and some cited her fatigue,
She held the ball wrong; the kicker colleague
Missed a point; the team lost in a blitzkrieg.
So she hung up her pads and her lingerie
But still wore embroidered silk, as she may;
Like feral donkeys men she passed would bray
“What color panties will she wear today?”
One night for dinner she dined on plaice
And then went dancing, with perfect grace;
She met a nice lion, and went to his place;
She left her panties with him, an act of grace.
