Prompt: fraction
“Mother! Daruv has more cha’an than I have!”
“Vesan, I thought you didn’t like cha’an as much as Daruv did.”
“Yes, I like it more than – ‘ik! Mother!”
“What is it, Daruv?”
“Vesan stepped on my tail!”
“Vesan!”
“Yes, Mother?”
“Do not step on your brother’s tail. Apologize to him, now.”
“I apologize, Daruv.”
“Good. Now, Vesan, do you really want more cha’an?”
“No, Mother.”

Varan smiled at Vesan, spoon poised over the bowl of cha’an. “Do you want some more, lir demef?”
Vesan let the memory fade and smiled up at her lover. “No, thank you, Varan. I never really liked it.” The younger vir gestured in affirmation with her tail before placing the bowl of stewed leaves on the table and resuming her seat.
The two started to eat dinner.
