Another two months, another six songs. For those of you just joining, the lyrics in the PDF file were written by me over the course of more hours than I'd care to count. The Suno stuff is all off-site. No soapboxing on my page.
Golden Treasure continued to provide much poetic inspiration over the past few months, but we also have a tribute to my favorite Dauntless behemoth and a totally original song.
Some commentary on each:
Twisted Riddle Battle -- The first Golden Treasure song of several. I had nothing yet narrated by Twist, considering its relative lack of importance in the story, and the fact that I didn't really want to mention Twist's bad leg. However, focusing on Twist's stupidly easy riddles and making them even more stupidly easy was a fun exercise.
Water's Battlecry -- Another Golden Treasure song narrated by Tempest. I felt like my previous Tempest song didn't really do justice to the splashy samurai, so this song explores a theoretical formative moment for Tempest in its history, before meeting the Spiritkeeper.
Aberration -- Another Golden Treasure song narrated by Whisper, focused on the tragedy of its self-loathing nature. I think Whisper deserves better, but my poetry is sometimes about truth rather than feel-good messages.
The Artist Divine -- I have some rationale behind this one, but I will not share it. I welcome your interpretations to see if you can guess what I was intending with this one.
Gonna Eat It -- Another Golden Treasure song, narrated by the Spiritkeeper, about its tendency to eat EVERYTHING. I'm serious, if you count all the things the Spiritkeeper can eat in GT, it's at least half of everything you see. Pretty normal dragon behavior though.
DANGER BEAVER -- This originated as an inside joke. When I shared the Gnasher fanart I commissioned with a certain someone, they simply replied "DANGER BEAVER". That was around February 15, 2024. Funny how just a little over exactly one year later, I complete this song. Also funny how a few days after that, Dauntless announces their upcoming permanent shutdown. My speculation is that they saw my song and decided it's all downhill from here.

I really like The Artist Divine and get powerful creation myth vibes from it. The challenges of making anything from nothing, seeing what you want to be. Sculpture, painting, music, writing...taken to a cosmic scale!
DANGER BEAVER is just a lot of fun. XD Great rhymes.
