They are trolls, which in this setting (arctic norway with folklore creatures alive and well) are sort of a catchall term for all weird humanity rejecting critters of the forest. They have the same general body plan as the Jotun, just more delicate, hairy and pointy, and they have a lot of diversity even within themselves.
They are different in the sense that they have huge families, are a bit more snobby, and arent gigantic herbivorous, loners like jotun tend to be. They are both weird mixes of wolves, raptors, hedgehogs, humans and goats (and basically a little of everything you can find in the woods)

OH I see! I hope to see the smaller critters one day too!!
"Act like a whalefall to the local economy"
HAHAHAH!
And now I'm curious to know how the trolls react to Dravad (or any other jotun) appearing on the horizon hahaha. Is the town normal sized? If yes, how do they adapt to receiving a giant?

They will be in the story :)
They all co-exist in a weird somewhat reality disobeying forest and have what resembles a society. Most towns have «their» Jotun, who’s kind of the designated weirdo. They are readily accepted as a part of society, even a vital one, but are fundamentally treated as fringe and sort of a designated outsider. It’s… troll social politics are weird and convoluted alright. Jotun also sort of dislike other Jotun if they hang out too much, and usually only socialize with each other twice a year high up in the mountains, so they sort of end up hanging around the other forest beings who tend to be far less likely to overwhelm them despite being more social.
As for the infrastructure, most troll towns are built with the expectation that a Jotun will probably occasionally drop by. Mutualism yay.
