Yet another landscape drawing, this time with much less effort put into it. Mostly because I put all the effort into the friezes(?) below.
This one depicts an unnamed setting I've been thinking through. Front and center is the Well Of Night, a thaumovolcanic phenomenon that forms swirling clouds of darkness that blanket the area. The Well's clouds are mostly water vapor and Sacred Ash, and they create a cool and rainy area. The warm air from the surrounding canyons is pulled down and in, and so the clouds are pulled up and out, meaning the Well's influence extends for several miles. It is one of only a few places still safe from the ever-burning sky.
Once again, I enjoy inverting the human notions of light and dark (Darkness shines from the earth to give life to the land. Behind the darkness is the threat of terrible light, burning the senses when night ends.) But in this format I get to have plants and birds and normal earth stuff rather than weird cave plants and weird cave birds and weird cave stuff.
---
The pattern with the birds is my second attempt at recreating the animated paper strip thing from a dream where I was listening to a lecture given by an alien species at my old middle school. The clouds would slide across and the birds would fly around on the paper but I don't have the energy to animate right now. The white gradient on it represents the fact that the sky is angry.
The 1-bit one is something. Don't worry about it, it's magic. It has furries in so I'm allowed to put it here.
