Rocket wasn't sure how this happened— from as far as he knew, the Infinity Stones had been atomized by that stupid purple thumb, and sure, the Avengers snatched them up through the timeline, but they were supposed to be put back— and with what a goody two-shoes boy scout that Captain America was, it wasn't likely he would leave any of them out of place.
So how did he come across a shard of the Power Stone? He had loved the extra jolt it had given him— getting bigger and stronger, feeling that power coursing through his body— but if there was a shard of the Power Stone out there, it stood to reason there were others, right? All he had to do was hunt down others that might be out there, follow up on any strange reports out there in the galaxy— and hey, Quill wouldn't mind if he borrowed the Milano for one or two quick runs, right? He was doing what he could to keep super dangerous artifacts out of the wrong hands. The right hands, however, were his.
Rocket found two more shards, and after some experimenting, found them devoid of their old powers; the mind stone wasn't bringing his custom weapons to life, and the reality stone wasn't warping reality into the correct timeline where everyone recognized him for the genius he was. But what they did do was continue to empower his body. He wore the power stone shard on a chain, now almost always found in the split between his pecs, and the mind and reality shards in each hands, pulsing energy and power into his increasingly hungry, growing muscles.
The enhanced raccoon's body had outgrown his combat suit entirely; he pumped his arms, bristling with cosmic power as his biceps swelled nearly as large as his head, fat veins glowing with the stones' powers snaking their way up and down the peak of those two hills.
"Heh, nice," Rocket smirked. "Got a pair of killer new guns."
The rest of him as well had filled out superbly— his broadside back and heaving flanks filled out his sprawling body, framing thick sets of cobblestone abs and a slab-like pecs packed tight against one another. His springy legs billowed into hefty, powerful pistons, as well— were that they were longer, but even if every other Guardian was looking down at him, he was pretty sure he could bench press each one of them, save for maybe Groot. He had a few more leads to follow up on, however— and if he could unlock some of the Infinity Stones' old power, he could do a lot more than flex and pose.
