EF 2011 sketches: <<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
This is the second of three sketch commissions I got at Eurofurence 2011 for my music sketchbook, where each drawing illustrates a brief excerpt from the lyrics of a song that I appreciate. I provide a list of quotes to choose from; the scene is up to the artist's imagination.

katara interprets an excerpt from "Born to Run" (at 1:09) by classic rock superstar Bruce Springsteen:
Wrap your legs 'round these velvet rims,
and strap your hands across my engines
For this quote, I was imagining some combination of furry art and mechanical drawing. The artist, however, had other plans. She surprised me with this very clever interpretation, and I like it lots! ^^

Heh. The fact that they aren't wearing clothes did not even register with me. I only realized it while I was working to produce keywords describing the pic. XD As you know, I leave the art up to the artists.
Also, why should anthros wear clothes? Many cartoon characters don't! (...and some do, but all wrong, like Donald Duck's heinous no-pants policy. :O )

As far as I'm concerned, this is not the most risqué art I've received. For example, there's also the revealing sketch immediately before it, and this vore-esque composition from last year.
Thank you for the kind words. ^^ I like the art too.
There are lost of sketchbooks based around things like a specific character or topic, but mine was inspired by
november's proverb/quote-based sketchbook (check out the scans in his gallery). Myself, I really like music and lyrics and I often search FA for furry art and illustrations inspired by bands and songs I like. Suddenly, I realized I could combine the two: I could make people actually draw art inspired by my personal favourite music and lyrics quotes, and see their visions in response. Thus, a sketchbook was born. :)
I'm sure it's been done before, though. As one artist said when I handed her my sketchbook: "I love the music ones." XD

Maybe.
I liked the video you linked yesterday.
Watched a "feel good" one today. Not as touching as the one you posted just with fursuiters making kids smile.

"Maybe" is not a complete "no." I like that. :P
Glad you liked the video! And the one you linked is good too.
kijanilion is indeed one of a number of outstanding furries that do so much to instill smiles and inspire people, both within the fandom and beyond.
