This is a charcoal rendering of actor Peter Billingsley as Ralphie Parker from the 1983 Bob Clark film A Christmas Story. The illustration was rendered on a 12 inch by 9 inch sheet of vellum Bristol.
This illustration is probably my first completed rendering in exclusively charcoal. While pencils are easier to use, rich blacks were a near impossibility and light being reflected from the graphite would cause problems for posting these on my website. I'm hoping I can call this project a success.
