So the story behind this......
I'm in a class called "Color Theory" and my instructor is a nazi for colors and straightness. We have to paint little squares of color using primary, secondary etc-- we're making a color wheel. However, as I said she is a neat-nazi so therefore she does not want to see the stroke of the brush at ALL in the paint. D: needless to say there are probably like 20 squares of the same color painted because there were brush strokes on one and so on and so on. Finally after getting a swatch that looks fairly good its time to move on to mixing colors for secondaries. If there is a slight bit too much yellow in your green, or red in the purple... you have to re-do it (WITH NO BRUSH STROKES >:V)
So... yeah its maddening. 2 1/2 hours of painting the same color over and over and OVER again D:<
GAHHH COLOR THEORY!!!! *rageface* *rips out hair* *flips desk* (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻

Hmmm...Not sure if using paint instead of using colored pencil would be easier...
I think you could get smoother color with paint more then pencil.
Not sure though, paint isn't my strong suit.
Either way, I had to go through the same song and dance. Coloring squares, color wheels, then arranging colors so that the background stands out more then the foreground. But all this re-re-doing stuff sounds useless and doesn't help you learn color psychology in the slightest bit.
