Let Sleeping Foxes Lie
...because it's god damn adorable when they do.
Played around with a little negative painting technique I've been wanting to use for a while now. I could never find a situation where it really made sense until now, but for this picture it seemed to work alright. Not amazing, but alright.
Foxxyfluff came out pretty decently as well, I think. I hope you folks like!

Negative painting is essentially the opposite of normal painting. Instead of painting in the object itself, you instead leave out the object and paint around it to create the effect of it being there. This is really the only way to do light on dark with watercolours, since they're transparent. In this picture, I used negative painting for the leaves he's sleeping on- instead of actually painting the leaves, I painted the spaces between the leaves and what was left looked like leaves.
Of course, I outlined everything later which reduced the impact of the effect quite a bit, but that's what was done anyway, heh.

Well, first you'd have to be sure you want it- it's a tiny picture, an ACEO. It's the size of a trading card. Trading card sized pictures are a bit of a specialized market, methinks.
If that hasn't scared you off, next all you have to do is make me a fair offer. :P

I'd definitely be interested, even with the small size. I could put it in a tiny frame at my desk at work even. As for fair offer, I'm not too familiar with appropriate prices for things like this, so forgive me if I lowball (and please counter offer if I do) -- but how about $25?
