i recommend looking up bird skeletons or examining a carcass. or just a quick search on google. as the OP said, the upper leg is less pronounced in the fully fleshed out animal. this is just a more pronounced version to suit a more humanoid frame. ducks and geese aren't missing a leg joint.
Like most anthros, certain parts of the anatomy need to be emphasized and stand out to make the being possible. In this case, it's the rump and thigh, that stand out from the body. The 'knee' is the place where the feathers meet the scaly hide of avian legs, and still points backwards in typical avian fashion.

yeah i get that, i mean with doign furry and trying to make them anthro there are exceptions and stuff.
i see the 'knee' but i guess what kind of threw me is the feather bend above it.
Sorry, i dont mean to start a fight or drama, and i do understand having to emphasize on things, but i mean i got 10 geese and a duck, so i know them pretty well and i just saw and it and just something clicked is all. Dont mean to be a nit picker.
Your anatomy study been very cool and have enjoyed seeing the diffences you done between human, hybrid and then full on, been finding it really educational and couple times it stopped and looked at them and was like "that would work better' or it make more sense if things were like that
