A group is an easier option for looking for people with whom you have something in common.
It is far easier than reader everyones pages in search for a common trait or hobby.
I am in favor of groups as they are not mandatory.
Those who want them can use them and create new ones where needed,
and those who'd rather write out who they are can do that.
