Hope 2017 is rolling out smoothly for everyone thus far. I just recently had my first taste of getting a 'blast from the past' today. I have not had a single hint of asthma since I was back in the middle grades of my Elementary School days. Rarely, have I ever gotten sick and rarer yet than that have I ever needed to go the the hospital for anything. Well broke that dry spell just this past Thursday... Seems with the odd shifting of the weather going from 40s to 50s, up and down and just being a little over worked it all finally caught up with me. I got hit with a Rhinovirus , which is just a common cold with a bit of a punch. Knocked the wind out of me so bad I literally couldn't breath. Luckily wasn't alone and was rushed into the Emergency Room Thursday night and I had to stay in the hospital the last couple nights. I lucked out, but got to say if any of you come down with a cold that just is NOT letting up, don't just ignore it. If I had been alone I might not have gotten to the hospital for help that night. Better to be safe than sorry. But that aside... Great to be home and drop a new journal. I feel like January just flew right by in the blink of an eye, but at least got to enjoy the New Year's fire works. And is cool to see that 2017 is the year of the...
T H E F I R E R O O S T E R
A good sign to embrace a bit of your inner courage to step outside of your own comfort zone and break through your inflexibility. And safe to say while the 10th Chinese zodiac sign does honor punctuality, ambition, and enthusiasm, it also is a hearty backbone for love and seduction. People under this sign tend to be honest and very communicative, always seeking wisdom and truth. Those born under the sign of the Rabbit are their opposite. And you know what they say. Opposites attract. Who all was born under the zodiac sign of the Rooster?
And lastly, before I got sick, I did get to go and see 'S P L I T' at theaters. The last M.Night Shyamalan movie I remember watching was when I was talked into sitting down and viewing was 'Devil' which given it was a movie about people stuck in an elevator with something dark and supernatural (as if the title doesn't give that away). And that one wasn't bad at all really once you got into it. And this newest one of his really reeled me in. Norman Bates would have been overwhelmed dealing with the splurge of split personalities this fellow had. It kept me wanting to stay tuned and watching until the end. I like how it paced itself and didn't go too far pitched with its theme. And even the twist (as you know Shyamalan is addicted to unleashing) was actually pretty interesting. Go check it out, it's one of the better ones out currently.
Of course I might sound cheesy ending on this but
the next movie I really really really want to see...

And I still cannot help but chuckle every time I see your melon swinging animated icon on here. lol
It's always a treat seeing it for a little chuckle. Though I can't believe I did not ask before... Who is that in the icon and What is it from?
I dont want to drop any spoilers here, as I really think others should go give this flick a chance. It stands well enough on its own out of the library of M. Night Shyamalan movies. But that twist ending just opens so many possibilities. I am curious to see if they build upon it now.
Stay safe and strong, girl.
I cannot yell it from high enough a hill (as most areas around here are low and flat) But I will not be underestimating cold season or the common cold again any time soon. I just feel stunned I got laid out so badly by it.
But I count myself lucky I had a ride into the hospital when I needed it most. If anything I would say to everyone to be sure you got a PLAN A & PLAN B for emergency instances like this set in place.
Remember the quote Mei-Ling gave us in the first Metal Gear Solid: "Happiness brought lesson to one man, misfortune to many." I am more than glad to see you are OK and lived to tell the tale from that.
:)
Stay safe and strong!
Guess it fits oddly well to this.
As much as I can easily learn from this occurrence it's still a blatant fact that this can happenAGAIN anytime a bad cold season rolls in. Gonna do my best to be as prepared whenever the next time swings around. But have had enough back and forth with colds that I know it wont be the last. Just hope sharing this little news on this experience will help others to be preemptive and proactive in case they find themselves in a similar situation down the road. Always wise to be prepared.
And knowing is half the battle.
Just interesting to look back at this journal and the comments and think how nice it was those 4 years ago, even with all that I was mentioning going on in this journal. Back then, little did we know that 2020 would come and lay us out like a stone-cold killer.
